Takeda Castle in Hyogo Prefecture is a ruined mountain castle whose walls appear to float above a sea of clouds, earning it the nickname "Castle in the Sky".
History
The castle is said to have been founded in the Muromachi period and later developed into a mountain castle with large stone walls. It was abandoned at the beginning of the Edo period.
